واقعیت‌ها و مسائل پیش روی نظریه‌های ادراک حسی

چکیده

ادراک حسی یکی از مهم‌ترین انواع حالات ذهنی است، زیرا در شکل‌گیری بسیاری از باورهای روزمره و اساسی ما، و در نتیجه در معرفت ما دربارۀ جهان و حتی مهم‌تر اینکه در شکل‌گیری بسیاری از مفاهیم ما سهیم است. من در این مقاله به‌تفصیل دربارۀ واقعیت‌های ادراک حسی که هر نظریه‌ای باید آنها را لحاظ کند می‌پردازم؛ واقعیت‌هایی همچون شفافیت، خطا و توهّم حسی و نیز دربارۀ مسائل ادراک حسی، به‌ویژه مسائل متافیزیکی و معرفت‌شناختی، که هر نظریه‌ای باید به آنها پاسخی درخور دهد بحث می‌کنم. به نظر می‌رسد که نظریه‌های مربوط به ادراک حسی یا تجربۀ ادراکی بخشی از واقعیت‌ها و مسائل مربوط به تجربۀ ادراکی را نادیده انگاشته‌اند و تنها به برخی از آنها توجه کرده‌اند. من در این نوشته می‌کوشم تا نشان دهم که نادیده‌گرفتن برخی از این واقعیت‌ها و مسائل از سوی نظریه‌های ادراک حسی بدان دلیل است که در خود این واقعیت‌ها و مسائل تنشی وجود دارد و در نتیجه نظریه‌های مختلف ناگزیرند که برای تبیین دسته‌ای از این واقعیت‌ها و مسائل اولویت قائل شوند.

Perception is one of the most important types of mental states in that it plays an essential role in the formation of many of our ordinary and basic beliefs and hence our knowledge of the world, and perhaps more fundamentally, in the formation of many of our concepts. In this paper, I will elaborate the facts that any theory of perceptual experience should accommodate, such as transparency, illusion, and hallucination, as well as the problems that such theories should address, such as the metaphysical and epistemological problems. However, it seems that theories of perceptual experience have overlooked some of these facts and problems and limited themselves only to some of these. In this paper, I seek to show that this is because there is a tension within the facts and problems concerning perceptual experiences and this leads different theories to give priority to the explanation of a certain set of such facts and problems.
