Allameh Tabataba'i's theory of validity plays a pivotal role in explaining social phenomena by creating a fundamental link between Sadr'i transcendental wisdom and the humanities. The core of this theory is based on a precise distinction between "facts" (objective matters independent of the mind, such as the principles of existence) and "validities" (mental structures dependent on human practical purposes, such as the concepts of property and law). This distinction provides the possibility of extending the ontological foundations of Sadr'i wisdom (the originality of existence, the doubt of existence, and substantial movement) to the field of the humanities. Accordingly, the humanities are inherently valid sciences and will not be able to comprehensively explain social realities without relying on the ontological foundations of transcendental wisdom. Validities, with their practical functions, like a vital bridge, connect the metaphysical realm of "truth" to the objective realm of human "social action"; because these concepts, although valid, are rooted in real human needs and arise from the truths of existence. This theory provides the necessary theoretical infrastructure for reexamining existing humanities and forming humanities based on Islamic principles.
