اعتبار شهودهای اخلاقی؛ نقد و بررسی دیدگاه پیتر سینگر

چکیده

شهودها در فلسفه اخلاق نقش توجیهی دارند و بیشتر نظریه‌ها و داوری‌های اخلاقی بر اساس آنها شکل می‌گیرند. پژوهش‌های علمی و یافته‌های متخصصان علوم شناختی در باب قضاوت‌های اخلاقی، وثاقت و اعتبار شهودهای اخلاقی را زیر سؤال برده و دیدگاه سینگر مبنی بر قائل‌نشدنِ جایگاه ویژه برای شهودها در اخلاق را تقویت کرده و روشنگری‌های جدیدی را در خصوص خاستگاه اخلاق ارائه کرده‌اند. سینگر معتقد است این یافته‌ها در کنار تبیین تکاملی از رفتار انسان نشان می‌دهد که نباید در پیِ یافتن عاملِ توجیه‌کننده‌ شهودهای اخلاقی بود و نیز نباید همه آنها را معتبر و یقینی دانست. وی ابتنای اخلاق بر عقل محض را یگانه عاملِ بازدارنده از شکاکیّتِ اخلاقی دانسته و ضمن نقد روش موازنه‌ متأملانه‌ رالز، بر این باور است که هر نظریه روش‌شناختی یا معرفت‌شناختی، مانند روش موازنه متأملانه که برای شهودها در موارد خاص نقش ویژه‌ای قائل باشد، از بنیان دارای نقص است و اساساً ممکن است سدی در برابر اصلاحات اخلاقی ایجاد کند. در این مقاله به طرح، بررسی و نقد دیدگاه پیتر سینگر در باب اعتبار شهودهای اخلاقی خواهیم پرداخت.

چکیده [English]

Intuitions have a justifying role in ethics, and moral judgments are formed in accordance with them. Scientific studies in cognitive sciences challenged the validity of moral intuitions and strengthened the position of singer that reliance on intuitions cannot be plausible. Singer found three problems with practical intuitions and merely accepted the theoretical intuitions. He believes that relying on pure reason is the only element for preventing us from skepticism, and while he criticized Rawls’s reflective equilibrium, he suggests that any methodological or epistemological theory, like reflective equilibrium that pays a role in intuitions, is fundamentally problematic, and may be an obstacle for moral reformation. In this essay, we introduce Singer's position about validity of intuitions and evaluate it, and then study critics' arguments and show its weak points and strengths.
