This is going to present "practical theology" and its configuration in the history of modern Christian thought. In order to do this, I will mention a historical and social grounds(secularization) of practical theology in the West, b) older theological thoughts including "pastoral theology" and "moral theology," c) significant thinkers and scholars, centers, books, and journals regarding practical theology, and d) the descriptive-empirical task, the interpretive task, the normative task, and finally pragmatic task in the practical theology.
